The Boulevard du Temple got a bit of a nightlife boost with the opening of neighbouring bars Martin and the More. Less gastro than Martin, the More’s focus is on entertainment, with a wide selection of bar games on two floors (including Ping-Pong tables, Mölkky and Pétanque). And unlike the Gossima Ping Pong Bar, at the More you don’t have to pay to play.
The décor is neutral apart from a few bold touches (a red truck and barrels that double as tables), ideal for the artists and designers who show (and sell) their work here, as well as for the larger groups who come to play tourneys. With its countless themed events, the More is clearly interested in drawing a diverse Parisian crowd.
Add in quality charcuterie and cheese platters, a well-stocked bar and an exceedingly affordable drink menu (a pint of Gallia is just €4.50 during happy hour), and the More is a recipe for success. Our one complaint would be that with just one toilet servicing three floors, you’re basically guaranteed a long wait.
