Held in a different city around the world each year (Tokyo, Melbourne, Berlin and Rome have all hosted in the past), the Red Bull Music Academy Festival comes to Paris from September 19-24 2016. With an eclectic line-up of shows across the French capital, the festival celebrates the latest underground and cutting-edge rock and electro sounds from around the world, while also giving up-and-coming musicians the chance to collaborate with various established international touring artists.

Spread over six days, the extensive programme takes in concerts, parties, exhibitions and talks, and features standout acts like Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth and NY queer rapper and activist, Mykki Blanco. There’s also a strand dedicated to the contemporary arts, with a talk from French artist, Xavier Veilhan, in the Jardins d’Artois, and 360-degree projections accompanied by music at the Gaîté Lyrique.
