Transformed from its previous incarnation as the Bakara Lounge in December 2009, this friendly restaurant has lost none of its warmth or charm as a result of its conversion in to the sultry, stylish Angkora Lounge. Deep red walls and an opening on to the street for al fresco dining make the restaurant both cosy and airy, part of the Angkora Lounge being lowly lit whilst other areas benefit from a flood of lovely natural light. The service is never short of very courteous, the background music pleasant rather than imposing, and as for the food, head chef Jerome delivers charmingly atypical bistro cuisine, ranging from Thai green curries to mushroom soups and snails in puff pastry. Be sure to check out the seasonal specials on the blackboard.
