The quality of cooking and service can both be relied on at La Ferme Berbère close to the banks of the Seine in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. Entering this much-loved North African restaurant down the rue from Institut du Monde Arabe is like stepping into a cosy old home. Stone walls, beams, lanterns and tapestries exude an exotic warmth matched by the classic North African flavours of tchiktchouka, brik and lamb tagine. A solid selection of meat-free dishes attract vegetarians to the La Ferme Berberel fan club. Honey-drenched Algerian pastries are virtually the only dessert and utterly delicious tempered by fresh mint tea. La Ferme Berberel spans three floors and includes a small sun terrace. Service is welcoming and kind.
