Whether hot pink’s your thing or not, La Stella - a (Beth Din) kosher Italian restaurant in Paris 12th - is definitely different. There’s an infectious cheeriness about its cerise bar matched with alternating hot pink and purple velvet chairs. Even the tablecloths are bright pink. Yet for all its eye-candy décor, La Stella’s kitchen is the real draw. Cosy Italian classics, from bruschetta to tiramisu, satisfy an animated crowd who recommend the pizza and risotto. Portions are on the generous side. Come summer, the space expands to the fresh air of La Stella’s street tables attractively arranged under a big purple awning.
