Feels like home' seems to be unanimous thumbs-up experience of Le Chansonnier fans, familiar faces at this very nice neighbourhood restaurant in the Canal Saint-Martin ‘village’ of Paris 10th. They love the family atmosphere and old school décor; curved copper-topped bar, scuffed wooden tables, and a photographic jamboree of Le Chansonnier’s famous guests. Bon vivant chef/owner Jean Claude Lamoroux cooks all the dishes of the day: “It reminds me of my youth when my mum, grandmother and great aunt regailed the family with the smells of their cooking.” Order the wine of the month and tuck into a hearty Le Chansonnier classic like foie gras torchon, cod stew, or rabbit with mustard sauce. Away from the main traffic of Canal Saint-Martin, the terrace makes a cosy summer spot.
