Though not to be confused with Paradis Latin on the Left Bank, this homely South American bistro a stroll from Gare de L’Est shares the famous music hall’s vivacious spirit.
A juicy red brightens both music-filled floors, a visual taste of things to come. The house specialities are Latin American classics – spice fajitas, quesadillas, burritos and co. Generous meat cuts, imported from Argentina, are the real deal, and accompanied as they should by sweet potato mash, plantain or sweetcorn. But perhaps the highlight of Paradis Latino’s menu is the Chilean selection of empanadas, and Chilean-style chilli con carne, matched with good Chilean cocktails (there’s a novelty).
