Pierre au Palais Royal restaurant in the heart of the heart of Paris is near absolutely everything: the Louvre, the Comedie-Francaise and Palais-Royal theatre, the Opera, the rue de Rivoli, the Tuileries are all two steps away. This venerable Paris institution – of more than 60 years’ standing – looks fabulous, with creamy walls, cool black and white colour concept from seating and linens to artworks and zebra detailing. The bistronomic menu features the freshest of seasonal ingredients in inventive, traditional dishes like red tuna tartare with gaspacho and cream with Meaux mustard, fillet of gilthead bream a la plancha with tomato and ginger confit of lemons, and mille feuille with Bourbon vanilla and Grand Marnier. The patron is a Master Sommelier of France, so the wine list is stellar.
