A contestant on French TV’s equivalent to Masterchef is the young man behind trendy Topping, a new addition to the busy eateries of Boulevard Voltaire that runs diagonally through the 11th. Before being eliminated from M6’s Top Chef in March 2010, David stirred up a reputation for giving 100% to everything he does, and the 28-year-old looks set to keep up his good name with this original casual dining concept. Topping brings together the best of America and France in a fresh and casual package – bagels and baguettes, chocolate mousse and cheese cake, gratin dauphinois and pizza. A bold contemporary design - bright white with turquoise and hot pink accents, and diner-style lay out (stools at the window, for example), attract a sassy, chatty young crowd.
