Ignore the first half of the name – punters come here to get lipstick, not biscuits. Situated amid the African cosmetics shops of Château d'Eau, Cookie's Make Up offers a choice range of beauty products at reasonable rates (think €2.90 and up for eyeliner, or €1-€4.90 for nail polish), and manufactured in full conformity with ethical guidelines (no dead guinea pigs here). Set up in 2012 by siblings Jennifer and Noël on the premises of their father's erstwhile haberdashery, the shop is a joy to browse around, thanks largely to the sheer breadth of its stock: glitter and lip gloss share shelf space with every shade of nail polish under the sun, and third-party makes such as Golden Rose are represented alongside the house brand. Our only qualm? The shop caters exclusively to lighter complexions.
