Eiden

Eiden’s founder, Sonia, quit a job in finance to set up her atelier in 2013. From a world of modelling markets, she caught the jewellery design bug the first time she attempted to make her own pieces. Today, Sonia works in in the corner of one big, well-lit room, which has been prettily decorated with souvenirs from her travels – forming the inspiration for her creative ‘bohemian, rock and vintage’ looks. Here Sonia works on her gems from beneath a huge display of metallic feathers and other accessories, while customers browse the space around her.

Sonia’s pieces are shiny and complex with veneers, seed pearls and natural stones; Native American influences are everywhere, from the designs of faces hidden in necklaces and ribbons to the bird motifs of earrings and bracelets. She also creates her own dream catchers. In a more classical vein, you can find silver-coated brass or bronze rings and bracelets fashioned from silver corncobs. 

Prices aren’t as much as you might expect for high quality work from a one-woman studio: bracelets are €34-€39, earrings €29-€48 and necklaces €35-€79. Brisk business, no doubt partly thanks to favourable pricing, have also allowed Sonia’s best friend Emilie to join the outfit ­– all the better for Eiden, as the pieces are stocked in thirty or so other outlets and are also available via the e-shop.
