The Etienne Marcel neighbourhood isn’t exactly known for its good value boutiques – rather, it's full of hip designers and specialist addresses, to the great displeasure of penniless fashionistas, who still come here for window-shopping and better inspiration than you can get from the department stores. The opening of the so-called friperieKiliwatch a few years ago rubbed it in rather by selling second hand garb at vastly inflated prices. Nevertheless, the rue Tiquetonne is where the Dutch chain Episode chose to open its Parisian branch in 2009. Like in any second hand store worth its name, here you’ll find ’80s dresses, leather bags, boots, skirts, jeans and so on. Where Episode stands out from the others is by the store’s organisation – you have to rummage, but it’s amazingly well organised, and prices are reasonable; around €10-€15 for a shirt or €30-€40 for a military-style fur coat that will see you through winter. Plus, for once, there’s a good selection for men as well.

This place is amazing. I'm from New York and vintage in NY is super expensive and the selection is not great. I purchased 3 leather skits at 25 euros each, unheard of and the quality and condition of them were great. The staff is friendly. I was very happy to come across this store.
