Some say that the famous char kuay teow at Sin Hwa Coffee Shop hasn't been quite the same since the owner passed away (but not before passing down her recipe, skills and stall over to her grandson). Nevertheless, we acknowledge that it remains one of the best char kuay teow on the island. You can get supplementary duck eggs or squid added to your dish. Sin Hwa also houses a popular noodles stall that serves two kinds of laksa: assam laksa (spicy noodle soup with a tamarind base) and laksa lemak (spicy noodles in a rich coconut gravy).
