Die Fledermaus

'Sister Cities', George Town and Adelaide celebrates its 40th year friendship through a comedic operetta named Die Fledermaus (Revenge of the Bat) by an Australian theatre company, Co-Opera. Set amid the glitzy art deco of the 1920s, the operetta tells a story of Dr. Falke's embarrassing misfortune when he wakes up naked at the town's centre after a drunken night. Feeling humiliated, Dr. Falke sets out to seek revenge. Proceeds from this operetta will benefit the Penang Philharmonic Orchestra's purchase of new musical instruments.
