A restaurant named after the patron saint of eateries has everything to be a marvel. And indeed that is the case with Taberna Santo António, in Miragaia, just a hop, skip and jump from one of the prettiest and most popular views of the river. Once you enter, you will find a well-stocked dessert display. Should you forget the rest of the meal and go straight for the sweet stuff? Sure, you could do that, and the homemade chocolate mousse, for instance, is among the city's finest. But there is still a lot more to enjoy. Order one of the four day's specials – guaranteed to be good. If the menu includes “alheira” sausage pie and turnip greens, or cod “pataniscas” with rice and beans, even better.
