Berwaldhallen review Rate it

The Berwaldhallen was built in 1979 for the Sveriges Radio Symfoniorkester (Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra) and the Radiokören (Radio Choir). The acclaimed modernist hall is built mainly underground. The Symfoniorkester, established in 1967, enjoyed a particularly successful period under the direction of Finn Esa-Pekka Salonen during the second half of the 1980s. The orchestra has a more contemporary touch than other Swedish orchestras, commissioning a significant amount of new music from Swedish and international composers. The Radiokören is considered to be one of the best choirs in the world.
