Many of Stockholm's museums have excellent cafés, especially the Dansmuseet and Aquaria Vattenmuseum, but by far the best is this place. You can fika here without forking out the museum entrance fee, so contemplating the works of Carl Larsson isn't obligatory. Though the museum, opposite the Royal Palace, is a bit dark and moody, sitting in the glass-roofed courtyard café is like having coffee in Renaissance Florence. Atrium offers a bit more than your average café - the food, served buffet-style, is as exquisite as the surroundings. The café is often hired out for private functions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
