Eternally elegant, Nordiska Kompaniet is one of the city's most treasured institutions. The famous revolving sign on the roof - with the letters NK on one side and a clock on the other - is visible from all over town. A sort of Swedish Selfridges, it's a first-class store, particularly good for clothes, Swedish souvenirs (crafts and glassware in the basement) and gourmet food. You can get your photos developed while you have a coffee in Café Entrée, one of several great places to eat.
