Based on the events of the Columbine High School shootings that led to the making of Michael Moore's 'Bowling for Columbine' (2002), American filmmaker Van Sant portrays with great coolness a society where everything's fun ... until someone comes in and starts shooting. The actors are unknown students walking around the school halls with books, sitting in the cafeteria, going to the bathroom to throw up and stay thin, going home to a drunken father ... And the elephant is that monster that might be sitting around in anyone's living room, and no one can see him.
