Altaveu 2014: Laetitia Sadier + Joana Serrat

The Altaveu Festival celebrates its 26th edition from September 5th to 7th in nearby Sant Boi de Llobreagat with some international names that could get you on the train to see the show. Two women headline tonight in Cal Ninyo on the first day of the festival. Laetitia Sadier (10.15pm), formerly of Stereolab, is in town with songs from her two solo albums, 'The Trip' (2010) and 'Silencio' (2012), as part of a trio along with percussionist Emmanuel Mario and bassist Xavi Muñoz. Local favourite Joana Serrat (9pm), one of the year's top Catalan artists, sings her delicate tunes from her albums 'Dear Great Canyon' (2014). And yes, she sings in English.
