They say brazilian portuguese is "portuguese with sugar", and at Bossa Market, culture intertwines even more. The event that attracted more than 12 thousand people - just last year alone! - to discover Brazilian culture returns for a unique experience in the region. This time, on June 8th and 9th, a special edition is celebrated for the event's fifth anniversary.
One of the highlights of Bossa Market is fashion: all the must-haves that are "only in Brazil" are there for a wardrobe refresh that will make your friends envious. There is also typical gastronomy for those who can't resist a good pão de queijo, a tapioca, or a refreshing caipirinha. There is even a wine village for those who never miss an opportunity to refine their palate, featuring brazilian grape varieties.
The little ones are not left out: the kids area is ready to welcome them for hours of fun.
For a bit of dancing
On the first day, Fernanda Abreu is the headline act, in a pocket show format. The singer has paved the way for brazilian pop music with a career spanning over 30 years and classics like "Você para mim", "Rio 40 Graus" and "Um amor, um lugar" are expected. Of course, there are also Bossa Nova and MPB - Brazilian Popular Music - concerts to pull everyone onto the dance floor and test the samba professionals, as well as those who are still a few lessons away from mastering the art.
The headline act for the second day is Sylvinho Blau Blau - who performs a concert of 80s classics. He gets everyone nodding their heads to the more rock'n'roll side of Brazil, as that's where his background lies too. Similar to the first day, there are Bossa Nova and MPB concerts for those who don't want the night to end so soon.
Morning, afternoon or night, there's every reason to stop by the market. And all times are good times: it opens at 11.00 and closes at midnight.
The step-by-step to an unmissable weekend
To ensure your presence at this edition, the steps are simple. Ready to take notes?
First of all, you need to plan everything to realise if you can go to both days or if you'll have to give up one - our advice is to try and make the most of both. Then simply go to the website where the tickets are available for sale. Then select the two-day pass (9€) or the specific day (5€). The process is quick and efficient. The only thing left to do is enjoy a trip to Brazil without leaving Estoril.
