In between your trips to the beach, bike rides on the Lakeshore Trail, and day drinking on the many patios that sprout up like mushrooms as soon as Chicago hits 50 degrees, take a few minutes to jumpstart your career, learn a new skill or network your butt off at July’s many tech sector mixers. Hint: Some of them are even on rooftops.

Built in Brews at GrubHub Hang out on the GrubHub rooftop at Built in Chicago’s monthly mega meetup for the tech industry. Each month rotates locations and it’s GrubHub’s turn to bring the brews and views. Given that it’s GrubHub, the snack game should be on point. 111 W Washington St. July 1, 5:30-8pm.

RailsBridge Rocketeers Roundup New to coding? Dipping your toe into Rails? In need of support, guidance, mentoring or a quick bug fix? The RailsBridge Roundups are open to people of all genders and all coding levels. Socialize, hack on your projects or help out others. 11 E Madison St. July 7, 6-8:30pm.

Dev Bootcamp Open House & Happy Hour Contemplating a career switch? Wondering how you get your foot in the tech industry door? Dev Bootcamp is a 19-week program for beginners, dabblers and those with some prior experience. Grab a drink with alums and chat about how you, too, might double your salary. 351 W Hubbard St. July 13, 5:30-7pm.

STEM Girls Social Network Young Professionals Meetup The STEM Girls Social Network is a community of volunteers and organizers who are committed to bringing coding and robotics workshops to girls. Come to this meetup to learn more about the organization and how you can volunteer or develop your own skills. 351 W Hubbard St. July 20, 7-10pm.

Chicago Founder Stories: Al Goldstein of Avant Avant is one of the fastest growing providers of online loans and was the most funded company in Chicago in 2014.
