1. Celebrate cinema

Lose yourself in post-World War II moody crime dramas at the Gene Siskel Film Center’s Casting Dark Shadows: Film Noir Revisited. Tonight, catch Christopher Lee in British Noir flick Corridor of Mirrors. (Gene Siskel Film Center, 164 N State St, 6pm. $11)

2. Shake it up

Add a splash of excitement to your night at Thalia Hall, where the city’s favorite barbacks will compete in the Fernet-Branca Barback Games. The event is free but make sure to RSVP and get in line early for guaranteed admission. Let the games begin! (Thalia Hall, 1807 S Allport St, 8–11pm. Free)

3. Experience Armando

Check out one of the simplest improv forms around by a team of top iO vets in the Armando Diaz Experience, where the players create scenes inspired by personal stories told by the night’s monologist. And you never know who might drop in to tell their tales. (iO Del Close Theater, 1501 N Kingsbury St, 8pm. $12)
