This $15M Glencoe home will make you hate the North Shore even more

This four-bedroom, seven-bathroom Glencoe manor hit the market for $15 million this week. The lakefront palace is excessive in nearly every way, and it's a loud reminder of why so many Chicagoans truly despise the North Shore.

Branded as a "French chateau," the place sits on a 2.7-acre lot with 486 feet of Lake Michigan frontage. It also has a massive outdoor swimming pool that's perfect when the walk down to the private beach is too far for the owners. The kicker: It will rack up more than $180,000 in property taxes this year.

Granted, it's not as pricey as Chicago's most expensive home on the market, but its lavish design and secluded location is enough to make anyone sick about their overpriced apartment where the landlord refuses to fix the leaky shower.
