Nobody will confuse 2 Chainz with Tupac or Chuck D. The artist formerly known at Tity Boi is not the most eloquent of emcees. But, dammit, it's hard to think of anyone in the current rap game who can put on a more entertaining show. Wearing a red throwback satin Bulls jacket, 2 Chainz, né Tauheed Epps, bounced about the ornate stage of the Chicago Theater performing hits from his two albums of brilliant stupidity—Based on a T.R.U. Story and B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time (yes, that title packs an acronym inside an acronym). As we noted when we saw the rapper perform at Lollapalooza 2013, he has just one volume setting—barking. The 36-year-old turns his energy level to 11, making his concerts more akin to a hair metal show, albeit in dope-haze slo-mo. While his lyrics and stage show will not force Kanye West to lose any sleep, the man can write about the baller lifestyle with wit. Take for example when he describes throwing cash at exotic dancers with, "Make you and George Washington head butt."
