Sonny & The Sunsets

On their 2013 LP Antenna To the Afterworld, Sonny & the Sunsets play rambling vintage pop, a sound somewhat along the lines of another backward-looking San Francisco act Girls. Lead songwriter Sonny Smith is a busy dude; in between records, he created 100 fake bands and wrote songs under those aliases and splayed the songs out on different comps and singles. Very cool, albeit a touch maniacal.
