An eclectic selection of specialty goods (teas, salts, tortilla chips) lines the wooden cupboards at this café, but the chairs and tables are for enjoying soups, sandwiches and pastries, much of which is brought in from the Italian restaurant Pane Caldo. Sandwiches (slices of roast chicken layered over tomatoes; smoked salmon and cucumber slices drizzled with balsamic) come closed-face on baguettes or open-faced on country bread: Either way, they're simple and pleasant accompaniments to a cup of coffee. Beware the tempting pastry case, where macarons, croissants and palmiers are in various stages of decline from freshness.
