For quick-serve Indian in the Loop, this place is tough to beat. Only thing is, that might be because it’s one of the only quick-serve Indian joints in the Loop. Still, when cravings hit, Joe’s does the trick. Samosas are dependable and fairly greaseless (they’re baked, not fried), and the traditional chutneys add worlds of flavor. For a combo platter, the best bet is to go with rice flanked by either the tender lamb rogan josh or the chicken tikka masala, plus the paneer cheese swimming in spinach. Just skip the blah beef, doughy nan and chickpeas that are a dead ringer for the packaged heat-and-serve meals.
