Tibi’s social-media guru, Chloe King, prefers polished pieces with a twist. This season she plans to try fall fashion trends such as punk-inspired and monochromatic dressing by incorporating them into her wardrobe of contemporary coats and stylish boots. In addition to Tibi, her favorite shops include Kirna Zabete and Bergdorf Goodman.

Favorite part about social media: “The accessibility. You suddenly have access to information, images and inspiration that you would have never found through traditional media.”
Least favorite part about social media: “Being so reliant on fickle devices! There is nothing worse than having your iPhone die mid-Instagram or seeing that spinning wheel of no-service doom.”
Her personal style: “Relaxed and feminine but with an unexpected twist. I like to constantly rethink the pieces in my closet and how to pair, layer or rework them to feel fresh and original. I also like taking risks. You’ll never know what might work until you try it.”
Her inspirations: “I love flipping through old magazine editorials for trends that have resurfaced—like crop tops. Nothing seems quite as authentic as seeing them styled in a 1990s Vogue.”
Signature accessory: “I don’t wear a lot of accessories. I like when a look is clean and effortless. But I do have a soft spot for men’s leather-band watches. The bigger the face, the better.”
Style motto: “Have an open mind, and don’t be afraid to experiment. If you’re comfortable in and excited about what you’re wearing, it will show.”
Fashion splurges: “I try to do a little CPW [cost per wear] in my head, and if I can see a piece translating into other seasons and taking me multiple places, I’ll splurge.”
Fashion saves: “I try to save on basic knits. Uniqlo is a go-to for those.”
Favorite fall trends: “I think monochromatic dressing is so chic. There were a good amount of full gray looks on the runway, which feels like a fresh color to try from head to toe. I also like how fashion has embraced punk for fall, as evidenced from the [fall 2013] runway shows and this year’s Met Ball theme. With an emphasis on attitude and originality, it’s a breath of fresh air to see classic combinations reimagined for fall: Saint Laurent’s feminine slip dresses with tough combat boots, Chanel’s classic tweeds reconstructed with leather and chains, or Sarah Jessica Parker’s elegant Met gown paired with an elaborate mohawk.”
On her fall shopping wish list: “A sleek coat with a super long hemline: Think mid-’90s Calvin Klein.”
