Chicago Notre Dame Bookstore Alumni and fans of the Fighting Irish flock to this Michigan Avenue bookstore and gift shop. The store is a smaller version of what you’d find in South Bend, but there’s plenty of Notre Dame clothing, books and knickknacks—many featuring ND’s famous angry little leprechaun. 224 S Michigan Ave (312-362-0195). Gaelic Imports Craving a traditional Irish breakfast? It’s all here, including Irish pork sausages, rashers, puddings and even Brennans Bread from Dublin for beans and toast. Irish Imports Teahan’s Located among the touristy gift shops on Navy Pier is the store that features authentic Irish crystal and gifts. Find Belleek china, Galway crystal and a few kitschy items including green teddy bears and a plush pig wearing a leprechaun’s hat. 600 E Grand Ave (312-595-5504). El: Red to Grand. Bus: 29. The Irish Shop It’s difficult to find a kilt in Chicagoland. But you’re in luck if you head to this Oak Park spot, which offers a classic assortment of kilts for both formal and casual wear. The store, located next door to the Oak Park Green Line stop, has a seasonal line of green kilts for St. Patrick’s Day priced at $36. South Side Irish Imports Want to show your South Side Irish pride? Stock up on gear in Mount Greenwood. The store offers a large selection of Irish T-shirts, many with references to the South Side. You’ll find other items in stock, such as gloves, music, imported foods, Celtic crosses and even decorations for your lawn.
