Honey Fresh Facial

A new farm-to-table spa treatment at the Elysian Hotel in Chicago

Skin-care specialists recommend getting facials as the seasons change, and with fall upon us, now is the time. Seriously, use that—or your birthday, anniversary, whatever—as motivation to book this new farm-to-table spa service at the Elysian. Your 60 minutes of bliss begins with an aesthetician applying a customized cleanser. Next up is exfoliation with an oat-based serum mixed with honey from the hotel’s kitchen to gently remove dead skin. Yes, honey. Not sticky, brimming-with-preservatives honey you find at the grocery store, but fresh, smells-like-autumn, bursting-with-vitamins-and-antioxidants honey from the Elysian’s personal beehive at Heritage Farm. (Honey is naturally hydrating and anti-microbial, so it’s pretty much perfect for any skin type.) A few painless extractions and a mask—massaged onto your face, neck and arms (ahhh)—finish up the service. You will look so dewy, fresh and wrinkle-free when you walk out that you’ll happily bid adieu to summer. Available at the spa at the Elysian, 11 E Walton St (312-646-1300). October–November, $180 (tips not accepted).
