What was the last live local performance you attended? When? What did you think of it?

Braun “Last night. Eurythmy dance performance. I enjoyed it.”

Chico Sins of Sor Juana. Excellent play, and I was very pleased that the Goodman Theatre had devoted a month to Latino plays. I am planning to see Billy Elliot soon and looking forward to it.”

Collins “I saw Beauty and the Beast, it was in the spring. I loved it. I brought my daughter. We’ll probably go see The Lion King. I love the theater.”

Cooper Shrek the Musical with my eight-year-old son. I enjoyed it! My son enjoyed it!”

Caster “Ezra Furman and Danny Malone at Schubas. An amazing night of music!”

Del Valle “I recently attended Jersey Boys, and I loved it! The music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons took me back to my early youth.”

Emanuel “Two weeks ago I attended the Joffrey Ballet’s recent production at the Auditorium Theatre—I’m a former member of Joffrey’s company. I thought that After the Rain in particular was spectacular. I also had the pleasure of attending the opening of the Modern Wing at the Art Institute last year, which has really enhanced the museum.”

Hendon “Ray Silkman, the jazz man at the Hilton, about six months ago. He was outstanding. In fact, I booked him later for [Illinois Senate] president [John] Cullerton’s inauguration in Springfield.”

Meeks “Two weeks ago, I saw Macbeth at the Lyric Opera House. During the performance, I couldn’t help but think of my high-school teacher who incorporated Shakespeare’s work into the classroom. I also loved the live performance of The Lion King because it sends a strong message about identity, heritage and having the courage of your convictions.”

Tyrrell “Last winter I attended the Chicago Symphony.”

Walls “African Festival of the Arts was fantastic and star-studded.”

White “A friend of mine took me to a performance at the Double Door September 15. I do not remember the name of the performers as I was really not that interested in the music they were playing.”
