Asha Like the Gold Coast and Schaumburg locations, this place is decked out in natural materials, such as rock-walled treatment rooms and a bamboo-adorned waiting area. Take a mental vacation by choosing from an exotic menu of massages, facials and waxes. Think tropical body wraps, chakra-balancing mani-pedis and botanical resurfacing. 1808 N Damen Ave (773-292-1100). El: Blue to Damen. Bus: 50, 56, 72. Mon–Fri 9am–9pm; Sat 8am–7pm; Sun 10am–6pm.

M.Go Fashion Salon M.Go is literally a one-stop shop before heading out on the town. In the main-level shop, you’ll find women’s clothing, including a large selection of trendy dresses and jackets. Head downstairs, and you’ll find top-notch beauty services performed by hair stylists, aestheticians and nail specialists. The top floor features makeup as well as eyebrow and lash services to complete your look . 1754 W Division St (773-772-2772). El: Blue to Division. Bus: 9, 50, 70.Tue–Sat by appointment.

Mojo Spa If we ever create our own spa, we want it to look exactly like Mojo’s—pink everywhere, princess-worthy manicure chairs and natural products galore. Tear yourself away from the retail at the front of the spa and head to the back for a super-pampered mani and pedi, complete with scrumptious-smelling homemade products. Come on Sundays for Amanda’s homemade brunch, which is complimentary with any service. 1468 N Milwaukee Ave (773-235-6656). El: Blue to Damen. Bus: 50, 56, 72. Tue–Fri noon–8pm; Sat 10am–8pm; Sun 10am–6pm.

Reina Spa Services run the gamut from beyond-the-basic massages (hot stones, tui na and shiatsu included) to mini facials and a fruit-yogurt body wrap. We recommend the Happy Hour Wednesday mani-pedi deal ($35) offered from 5–8pm, complete with a complimentary glass of wine. Sit back in a comfy massage throne while a tech goes to town on your toes—sloughing, lotioning and massaging—all finished off with a hot towel wrap. 1821 W North Ave (773-227-3462). El: Blue to Damen. Bus: 50, 56, 72. Mon–Fri 9am–9pm; Sat 9am–7pm; Sun 11am–7pm.

Ruby Room It’s a healing sanctuary, a spa, an elixir bar, a yoga studio, a crystal bar, a hair salon, a meditation studio, an educational laboratory, an apothecary and a makeup-to-lifestyle-products retail space all rolled into one 10,000-square-foot space. Besides its size, the biggest difference between Ruby Room and most other spas is that its treatments skew more to your energetic system with such offerings as intuitive-energy healing, chakra cleansing, crystal-energy healing and astrology. 1743 W Division St (773-235-2323). El: Blue to Division. Bus: 9, 50, 70. Mon–Fri 10am–7pm; Sat 9am–6pm; Sun 10am–6pm.

Spa Forever Seek and you shall find budget-friendly spa treatments at this spot. Treat yourself to a facial ($50), hour-long Swedish massages ($70) or brow wax ($20) without breaking the bank. 1917 N Damen Ave (773-394-0000). Mon, Wed–Fri 9am–9pm; Tue 1–9pm; Sat 8am–7pm; Sun 9am–5pm.

Spa Soak If hoity-toity spas rub you the wrong way, this low-key alternative may be for you. Housed in a remodeled vintage apartment, the space is more akin to a relaxing holistic home than a clinic. Choose from basic services such as manicures and facials, or go for a reiki treatment or seaweed body facial. 1733 N Milwaukee Ave (773-395-9000). El: Blue to Damen. Bus: 50, 56, 72. Sun, Mon 10am–4pm; Tue–Thu 9am–7pm; Fri, Sat 9am–6pm.

Swagger This men’s salon caters to the fellas by adding a little rock & roll swagger to its cuts, thanks to the stylists with tattoos and trendy hair colors. The big seller is the $39 “usual” cut, which includes hot towels, a scalp massage, and brow and beard trims. But if you want to skip the bells and whistles, opt for a no-wash cut and the salon takes $9 off the price. 1711 W Division St (773-384-9001). Mon–Wed noon–9pm; Thu 10am–9pm; Fri 10am–7pm; Sat 9am–5pm; Sun 11am–5pm.
