Idyllically nestled into the mountainside, this hotel is built on the site of a renovated 17th-century mill; hence the name. Despite being a grand, three-storey affair, the hotel doesn't upset the quaint atmosphere of the village. Its traditional feel extends inside, where period details such as exposed beams and stone-flagged flooring add antiquated flair to a modern affair. To top it all off (quite literally), the third floor balcony is home to an excellent restaurant manned by affable staff.
If you want to leave the car parked for a while and explore the local landscape on two wheels, the Mill Hotel can supply bikes for €14 a day, or €88 for a week's worth of cycling. The deal includes helmets and a kit comprised of a spare tube, mini pump and padlock. Mountain trail tours are also offered, but need to be pre-booked.
