The castle is exciting enough all on its own, and then there's the Fry Model Railway and Tara's Palace to make this a perfect junior his 'n' hers day out. The model railway features detailed replicas of Heuston and Cork railway stations, and a range of tiny, working trains that runs from vintage 1920s models to streamlined modern variants. Tara's Palace is a dolls' house built in the style of an 18th-century mansion. The basement café is excellent, and there's also a wooden adventure playground.
