Kehoe's review

If you suffer from a fear of small spaces, avoid the lavatories in Kehoe's. Designed with Lilliputians in mind, they are (literally) a low point in a pub that is otherwise rich with old-style character and delightful snugs. Friendly staff serve beautifully creamy Guinness, and the upstairs bar has changed little since John Kehoe died many years ago. At busy times a crowd gathers around the stairs, giving it the feeling of a convivial house party.

I miss this pub with all my heart. It was a constant when I was training as a nurse. In my day 1977-80 we could rub sholders with musicians. I met Phil Lynnot. He was very down to earth. The best man there was Nicky. He was then the head barman. Mr. Kehoe used to come downstairs and announce that time was up. He was always dressed in black clothing. With his shock of white hair and funeralistic manner, he scared us out of there. That was part of the fun. We called him Dracula! Great times, good friends. I miss it very much. Mary.
