Nik Zainal Abidin - Malaysia's Foremost Wayang Kulit Artist

Interpr8 art space will host the works of Malaysia's foremost wayang kulit artist, the late Nik Zainal Abidin. Wayang kulit, a traditional Malay art form, is a shadow puppet play that tells the ancient stories of Ramayana, among others. Nik Zainal's works are distinctive for its stunning attention to detail and masterful use of colours mainly in watercolour and oil paint. This exhibition will also display his other works outside wayang kulit, including figurative, landscape and Islamic calligraphy.
