WonderKafe & Bar

WonderKafe & Bar is located in WonderMama X in Avenue K – a restaurant that serves Malaysian favourites with a contemporary twist. The bar seats up to 25 people, but don’t worry; you can also take a seat at the restaurant area and still enjoy the snacks and cocktails from the bar. We love the idea of having a quaint Japanese-inspired bar in a mall. Happy hours go from 3pm to 8pm, making WonderKafe a great spot for after-work drinks.

The signature cocktail, Zakuro Summer, is a must try. It’s made with Japanese whisky, pomegranate juice, port, lemon and sugar – sweet, sour and refreshing, all in one tall glass. If you love drinking Yakult then try the Chui Hi with Yakult mixed with shochu. It comes in various flavours such as passion fruit, apricot, grapefruit, peach and kasturi. Where else can you find a cocktail made with Yakult? Moving on, WonderKafe is the only place that serves Kirin Ichiban beer on tap and there’s also a selection of Japanese, and American whiskies available.

If you’re looking for something quick and easy to eat, the bar does yakitori with chicken, squid, salmon, beef, lamb and prawn. There are also sandwiches, fresh Japanese-style oysters and more. The sandwiches are served with homemade pita bread, grilled yakitori meat (beef or chicken), tomato, lettuce, fries, potato salad and pickles. If you want to be more adventurous, have the Wasabi Tako – raw octopus with wasabi. For beef lovers, Mamasan Beef Tataki is for you – lightly grilled New Zealand rib-eye beef with tomato, garlic, sesame and ponzu sauce. It’s tender, acidic and flavourful.
