Since a good chunk of us KLites spend more than two hours daily on the train (that's a lot of time spent squashed with strangers), get a breath of fresh air with a dose of art, music and dance when you get off at the Masjid Jamek LRT station.

All that culture at the station is all thanks to Arts On The Move (AOTM), a year-long joint initiative by Think City and Prasarana Malaysia Berhad. Instead of you going to a specific venue to catch a performance or exhibition, AOTM makes art appreciation more accessible by bringing art to the people.

The AOTM programme began in April this year with Ilham Gallery featuring selected artworks from their 'Love Me in My Batik' exhibition and public art installations by Urbanscapes, followed by live music performances by Shanthini Venugopal and Eddie Zachariah, and a dance performance by Nyoba Kan.

This July, you can catch performances by Hady Afro Trio (July 2), Mahavidya Dance Theatre (July 11), Dikir Barat Arjunasukma (July 19) and Az Samad (July 26). All performances will be from 5pm to 7pm. Just make sure you don't block the escalators.

Arts On The Move will be ongoing at Masjid Jamek LRT station until January 2017. For programme updates, visit facebook.com/myrapid or facebook.com/mythinkcity.
