Time Out says

Dubbed a ‘flashpacker’ accomodation, Grid 9’s concept is essentially a hybrid of a hotel and a backpacker’s hostel. Designed with a grid in mind, their goal is to create a friendlier, more interactive environment for guests to mingle. The paths between rooms intersect, allowing guests to ‘network’, presumably by bumping into each other as they traverse the halls.

Grid 9 is well-rounded, from ensuite rooms to pods furnished on a double-decker beds for those on a budget constraint. All of their rooms are equipped with a 32-inch LED TV with free cable channels as well as complimentary WiFi access. The minimalist decor is done up with angular designs coupled with a striking yet simplistic colour palate. It may sound a bit bleak but the effect is sleek and inviting.

The hotel also features the Grid 9 Lounge where you can sink into their Doof bags while you enjoy a movie on the 55-inch LED TV or play a game of pool. For food and drink, there’s the Grid 9 Gastropub, where according to Grid 9, ‘The food’s alright, the drinks are decent, but most importantly, we want you to party and have a good time.
