The Pains of Being Pure at Heart Live in KL

The ability to distil tender, teenage heartache into fist-pumping, stadium anthems is a rare skill – and The Pains have got it down to a tee. They didn’t get here all by themselves, of course: you’ll hear echoes of The Cure in their bittersweet lyrics and synthesised riffs, while their production team’s credits include Depeche Mode and Smashing Pumpkins. But The Pains bring their own fizzy energy to the ’80s nostalgia party. We can’t wait to jump up and down to ‘Heart in Your Heartbreak’ come March 4.
