The World of Kokeshi

Get occupied at The World of Kokeshi exhibition held by the Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur (JFKL). Originated from northern Japan, the handmade wooden dolls have enlarged heads with painted faces. The dolls are known as souvenirs of Tohoku’s hot-spring areas, and it’s been suggested that they make good shoulder massagers. Though you can’t bring one home, celebrate the craftsmanship of this delicate doll that is now a dying traditional art.
