Aiming to be a forward-thinking museum and to spotlight local artists, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in North Miami is now run by the city after the nonprofit in charge moved its operations out of the public building and established a new arts organization called the Institute of Contemporary Art Miami (ICAMiami). Babacar M’Bow, appointed by the city as MOCA’s director, is focusing on local artists with international acclaim in his current programming.
