The annual rollickin’ rock fest celebrates its tenth birthday • November 20–23
One of the most exciting music festivals in Paris comes of age this year. For a decade now, Parisians have flocked to the chic neighbourhood of Boulogne-Billancourt every November for a long weekend of rock – indie, bluesy, experimental and psychedelic alike. This year, BBmix turns ten years old, and celebrates with its best line-up yet.
No huge headline names aside from the fragile folk strains of Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and eccentric krautrock veterans Faust. But the programme is packed with up-and-coming names that have caught our attention: Greek folkster-cum-pop rocker Xylouris White and mysterious musique concrète artist Ghédalia Tazartès, to name but two. On balance, the line-up seems more focused on experimental acts than ever before, cementing the festival's reputation as one of the more progressive events on the Parisian music calendar. We'll be there as always.
