Time Out says

For who? Those mad about matcha.

What to order? Everything based with matcha. EVERYTHING.

Forget everything you know about matcha. Forget all the other Japanese matcha restaurants - Toraya is king of them all. Considering the location in Concorde, prices are naturally going to be a fair bit more, but this shouldn't hold you back as this traditional tea salon is nothing but a dream.

If you're feeling hungry have a crack at the lunch deal (€31.20) served by a flotilla of smiling waiters. This 4-part meal is best shared between friends - there are two dishes, with or without matcha: an avokani (a bowl of rice perfumed with white sesame and ginger, seaweed, crab, avocado, fish eggs and citrus vinaigrette) accompanied by a fragrant steamed egg casserole; and a matcha soba (salad with buckwheat pasta, matcha green tea, tofu, shrimp, seaweed, cherry tomatoes and buckwheat seeds).

The puddings are an explosion of colour: refreshing matcha yokan with its scrumptious cane syrup and grilled soybeans. To continue the green theme try their teas. Whether you chose the iced matcha or not, you'll feel suitably zen with the matching decor.
