Summerfest 2013, June 22 -23
It’s summer fun with live music at the lobby and splashes by the pool at Hard Rock Hotel. The performance line up includes Chubs, High Society, Smooth Alchemy, Coca d Monday featuring Man Kidai, Allan G, Ray Cheong, Brackets, Nine Lives, Acoustic Fourplay and of course, The Jazzhats. The RM10 entrance fee will benefit local charities and it includes a cool temporary tattoo. The ‘fest’ starts at 2pm.
Music with Mia Palencia, Mike Dawes and Az Samad, June 22 - 23
The trio will be belting it out at The Canteen throughout the weekend with Mia showcasing her self-released album, 'Songs from the Jiwang Kingdom' while acoustic guitar renditions from Mike Dawes and homegrown Az Samad will seduce through their solo performances. Starts at 9:30pm
It’s very possibly Malaysia’s first large scale international photography exhibition and it pools together the finest Asian photography with hopes in establishing a cool art space for exchange, education and networking. There are photography exhibitions, workshops, talks and screenings as well as portfolio reviews for budding photographers and lens men. This festival is part of George Town Festival 2013 and is held in various venues between Love Lane, Muntri Street and Beach Street. Part of GTF2013 is the Causeway Exchange event and one of the programs is this one that shows off Singapore's next generation of stand-up comics. There’ll be three young comedians Sharul Channa, Jinx Yeo and Fakkah Fuzz who promise a side-splitting time. This live comedy show starts rockin’ at 8pm at The Canteen and tickets are RM30 including one drink.
