Time Out says

What is it?

This bell tower, which is over 75m tall and was completed in 1763, was designed by the architect Nicolau Nasoni. It’s one of Porto’s most prominent landmarks and is a must-visit for anyone coming to Porto.

How many steps does the tower have?

You’ll have to climb 225 steps to reach the top of the tower, but we promise the views from the top are worth it.

When is the tower open?

Torre dos Clérigos is normally open from 9am to 7pm, Monday to Sunday. Exceptions to this include: Easter, summer and the Christmas season, when it is open from 9am to 11pm; December 24 and 31, when it is open from 9am to 2pm; and December 25 and January 1, when it is open from 11am to 7pm. Last entry is always 30 minutes before closing.

Do you need tickets to visit the tower?

General admission is €8 and €5 for students aged 11 to 18. Children up to 10 years old go free. Tickets grant access to the tower and museum.
