Time Out says

4 out of 5 stars

This retrospective of the work of Canadian artist Michael Snow takes a look at what this multidisciplinary artist has produced and reflects on the plurality of media and techniques he's worked with, including music, films, video, painting, sculpture, photography, books and installations. The exhibited works span the 85-year-old artist's entire career, and many of them are presented for the first time in Europe.

Michael Snow's work seeks to explore the expressive capabilities of sound and image, challenging the duality of vision/representation. His creative approach requires audience participation, suggesting you see the object, perceive it, and engage with it. In his compositional strategies there is a will to direct attention in different ways and involve the viewer in the process of creation. The transfer of limits leads to not only the interaction between works, whether objects or pictures, but the appreciation of space as an artistic, audio and visual element, rather than a neutral container of creations.
