Museu Diocesà review Rate it

A hotchpotch of religious art, including some 14th-century alabaster virgins, altarpieces by Bernat Martorell and wonderful Romanesque murals. The building itself is also something of a mishmash; it includes the Gothic Pia Almoina, an almshouse and soup kitchen founded in 1009, stuck on to a Renaissance canon's residence complete with Tuscan columns, which in turn was built inside an octagonal Roman defence tower. The museum also has space for two temporary exhibitions, which generally showcase the work of local artists, photographers and architects.
