If you want to bed down in one of BA's more traditional barrios, Elefante Rosa, located on the edge of the relatively tourist-free Boedo neighbourhood, is a great option. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you've crossed the threshold of this former tailor's workshop you'll be pleasantly surprised.
